Su Choo Chang, M.D.

Dr. Chang's education and training began at the International Medical University, Malaysia, where she earned an Advanced Diploma of Medical Science. She then attended University of Western Ontario Faculty of Medicine, London, Ontario, Canada, and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree. Her international education continued when she completed her internship and residency in Richmond, VA, at Pediatrics in Virginia Commonwealth University Health System – Medical College of Virginia. She then further pursued fellowship training in Pediatrics Hematology – Oncology and Neuro-oncology at Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR.

Dr. Chang’s philosophy is to treat patients with respect and compassion and be thoughtful about their needs. She says patients have taught her to be more understanding, have patience and to be inclusive. “Every patient’s experience and challenges are different and unique in their own way,” she says.

Dr. Chang previously practiced as a general pediatrician at a FQHC facility in South Bend for more than 13 years. She has vast experiences in taking care of premature babies, children with chronic health conditions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, adolescent health, transgender related issues, foster children and more. She also enjoys precepting pre-med students and NP students throughout her career.

Dr. Chang works full time in our Elkhart office and her day off is Thursday.
